RTM Boats
Such large items are more involved in terms of organizing delivery and as such may take up to 7-14 working days to arrive at your address. We will on receipt of an order, inform you by email as soon as possible of the date of delivery. On the day of delivery, specific times of arrival are not possible to give, so allow plenty of time to be in attendance.
The Kayak/Canoe will only be delivered in the presence of the purchaser or their representative as the item will need to be checked over and signed for. If you the purchaser are using a representative to accept to goods please inform us of their name so we can inform the courier. The delivery driver will only remove the goods from the lorry, please ensure you have made arrangements from that point on.
Any damage to the Kayak/Canoe must be notified to us within 24hrs of delivery and the details recorded on the couriers delivery sheet as evidence that it occurred before delivery. (Note, by their nature plastic boats are all unique in their colouring and surface texture as a result of the production process. Colour differences, small blemishes or minor transportation marks are not unusual and in no way affect product performance).
Collection of Goods
Collection Saves the cost of delivery. If you live or are holidaying nearby, why not order your boat and we will keep it until you can collect it from our premises. We will advise you on availability which will save disappointment, save fuel on the motorway and be able to answer any questions face to face.
Safety
We recommend that at all times whilst engaged in watersports, suitable personal floatation devices are used (Buoyancy aids for the experienced and life jackets for weak or non swimmers). We also recommend that prevailing weather conditions, type of craft and experience of the paddlers are taken into account when planning to go onto the water. If in doubt seek expert advise and training obtainable at such organisations as the British Canoe Union ( www.bcu.org.uk ). Children should always be supervised.
Care for your Boat
Inflatable Kayaks/Canoes will give hours of enjoyment so reward them with some TLC. Inflate so that you can still squeeze the tube (not drum tight), this will leave a margin of expansion should the sun come out and warm the air in the tubes. Let out a bit of pressure if the tubes get too firm. When packing away, wash any salt off and allow to dry before folding evenly as per the instructions. Do not store them in sunlight, extreme heat or cold or cover them with heavy items. If you put a fishing hook through the bottom then we do sell a glue!
Plastic Roto Moulded Kayaks/Canoes/Surf Boards although very tough they too benefit from being looked after. Rinse off salt at the end of the holidays and pack away for winter. They are best stored for prolonged periods on their sides or upside down, away from heat, cold, and sunlight.(i.e don't put them in the roof of a tin shed in a hot summer or you will get an interestingly shaped hull). Deep scratches or scuffs can be sanded lightly to take off the ragged edges which cause drag in the water.
