Local Produce & Butchery

Supporting local farmers and providing our customers with top quality, wholesome local produce has always been an integral part of our business and with this in mind, and our years of networking and connections in the local area, we offer the best range of fresh, locally sourced food that the South Hams has to offer!

Aside from local products such as fruit, vegetables, milk, and eggs, which we source from a variety of local farms, we have our very own Butchery serving the highest quality local meats.

With a focus on high quality local produce, the Butchery not only stocks beef, lamb and pork but also sources from the surrounding farming community  chickens, geese and turkeys.

Storing, curing, carving, and preparing all their meat onsite (as you can witness for yourself in the shop where the meat is traditionally prepared), you can buy directly from the south hams producers at the counter located in the heart of Ashby’s of Salcombe!

Aside from the above, all the additional things you might want we have thought of too! From Quince Honey Farm’s Devon Flower honey to Salcombe Brew coffee beans to chilli chocolate from the South Devon Chilli Farm to locally sourced baked goods from Salcombe Bakehouse and Hallet’s – we have carefully sought out local products so you can enjoy the great, unique, and surprising variety of products that the South Hams has to offer!

Whether you want ingredients to cook yourself breakfast, lunch, and dinner at home – or even just snacks – you can find it at Ashby’s of Salcombe!

Off-Licence

Whether you are entertaining guests, gifting a bottle, or just want some beer to enjoy with a film we have an extensive range of wines, spirits, beers, and ciders from which you can choose!

Whilst we stock many of the popular mainstream brands we place a strong emphasis upon local South Hams and South West breweries and distilleries! Due to this we showcase a distinctive range of bespoke wines, spirits, beers, and ciders which you might not otherwise have got the opportunity to try out!

Whether you are after a nice ale from Salcombe Brewery or the South Hams Brewery, or a delicious wine from the local Sharpham estate, or you want to try a carefully, handcrafted and small-batch gin from award-winning producers like Salcombe Gin, Dartmoor Distillery, The Wrecking Coast Distillery, and many more, we have them all!

Whilst we maintain all the favourites we are constantly bringing in new products giving you the chance to see something new!

Recently we have begun expanding our range of local miniatures too, giving you the chance to sample many of these bespoke drinks before committing to a full sized bottle!

Due to the popularity of many of our local drinks we also have a range of exclusive merchandise from both South Hams Brewery, Salcombe Brewery, and Salcombe Gin! This entails everything from engraved glasses to t-shirts!

Dogs:- Our furry friends are allowed in the cafe and patio area with owners BUT NOT the Main Shop or Butchery.
