Islanders Calypso Sport kayak is a family favourite for paddling on the beach, estuary, lake river and in fact wherever you can have family water based fun. With multiple foot rest positions and a broad weight capacity, the Calypso can carry a great variety of paddlers. Its wide stable hull, integral keel and free draining deck allows it to take on all sorts of adventures.
The Calypso has a comfortable padded seat and backrest mounted on its pre-moulded hull making a long stint paddling a treat. That paddle will be pretty dry too with the hulls wave piercing high bow and large through deck scupper drain holes.
Stowage of those important items is made easy with the 10 inch bow hatch and 5 inch central screw hatch giving access to the hold areas. The Calypso also has a central drinks bottle hold for instant hydration. In the aft section the Calypso has a large deck well secured with bungies for dry bags or other items. On the fore deck are paddle securing bungies which make carrying the kayak out the water easier or they hold onto the paddle while you are having a quick rest on the water.
Transporting Islanders Calypso Sport Kayak could not be easier or safer with is four carry handles, roof rack friendly flat deck and anodised lock bar. Use the scupper holes to help tie it to the roof rack and the jobs done.

Islander Kayaks are based and manufactured down in the Westcountry at the factory in Clevedon, Somerset, England. They only make kayaks and not wheelie bins, unlike many manufacturers. As a result the kayaks are really built to last. They are all made and assembled by hand at the Islander factory by skilled staff. Islander fit only premium parts to their kayaks. Such parts include corrosion resistant stainless fixtures: moulded in brass captive nuts, and premium Palm backrests.
